CCC Program Descriptions
Morning Meditation - Combined Group - VIRTUAL - Join us Monday, Wednesday, & Friday at 7:30am for our online community meditation group hosted by The Center. We create a safe space to learn and practice tools that promote presence, reduce stress and anxiety, and enhance wellbeing. No experience necessary. This workshop is hosted as a combined group of people affected by cancer, along with others who may not have been affected by cancer. (30 min)
Mind/Body Tuesdays - Join us in person on Tuesdays at 10:15am at The Center (55 Foothill Rd, Reno) to explore mind/body practices including Qi Gong (1st Tuesdays), Sound Meditation (2nd Tuesdays), Gentle Yoga (3rd Tuesdays), Mindful Meditation (4th Tuesdays), and Gentle Yoga & Meditation (5th Tuesdays). All levels from beginner to experienced are welcome to attend. All required equipment provided. Facilitated by The Center Foundation. (45 mins)
Saturday Create - Join us on the first Saturday of each month to bring out your creative side. Each session will feature a new art or craft project & is a great time to make connections within our cancer community. Check the calendar to see what creative project will be featured and the location for the activity. All supplies provided. (2 hrs)
Outdoor Walking Group - Join us on the second Saturday of each month at 10am as we explore outdoor walking/hiking paths around town. Check the calendar to see meeting location. This is a weather dependent activity & we will be targeting easy to medium paths that are approximately 2 miles.
Member Luncheon - Join us on the third Sunday of each month to meet new and returning CCC members while enjoying a free lunch provided by community sponsors. Check the calendar for location.

- 4-week Stories of Living & Healing Workshop - Via Zoom June 15th, 22th, 29th & July 6th from either 11:30am-NOON or 6:30pm-8pm Having a safe space to write and share one’s stories is incredibly healing and helps us turn those experiences into sources of strength. In this four-week workshop series, we will dive into experiences of living and healing through a range of guided journaling, creative nonfiction techniques, and short readings/music. This is a 4-week series workshop. All participants must be available to participate each week for the 4-week duration. Registration is limited to 10 people and will close once full. If full, contact us to be put on a waitlist for the next group. Early registration is encouraged. This program is funded in part by a grant from Nevada Humanities and the National Endowment for the Humanities. - 8-week Mind-Body Skills Workshop - Join us on an 8-week journey through the principles of mind-body practices. Mind-body skills can help to reduce stress, cultivate emotional and mental balance, develop effective coping skills, stimulate creativity & increase self-awareness. This is an 8-week series workshop.
